DISCOVER STEWARDSHIP TRAVEL
California’s central coast award-winning Stewardship Travel Program provides a unique menu of over 50 activities for visitors to play, care, and connect deeper with local residents, scientists, naturalists, wildlife, and heritage sites located along the CA Highway 1 Discovery Route in coastal San Luis Obispo County (SLO CAL). As you plan your Avila Beach trip, consider adding an hour or two of fun volunteer time to your day, or schedule a travel adventure to a natural, cultural or historic site. Plant seedlings in a native garden, contribute to a historic lighthouse, make new friends at a beach cleanup or become a “citizen scientist” at a nature/marine center.
