Morning: Start with a cozy cup of coffee from Kraken Coffee Company. Sip slowly, breathe in the ocean air, and ease into the day.
Midday: Head to Avila Valley Barn to wander through the farm stands, pick apples, and snack on a caramel apple or roasted corn.
Afternoon: Walk or bike the Bob Jones Trail, a peaceful path shaded by sycamores that winds toward the ocean, offering a mix of country charm and coastal breezes.
Evening: Finish your day at Custom House or Blue Moon, where seaside dining and a glowing sunset set the scene for a perfect fall dinner.
Avila Beach Outrigger Expo: Paddle to Pecho
Get ready for a day of outrigger excitement in the heart of California’s Central Coast on September 20, 2025. Hosted by Pale Kai Outrigger, this open-ocean paddle invites athletes and clubs from across the state for friendly competition, fresh air, and beach side celebration.
EcoSLO Clean Up
ECOSLO, in partnership with Central Coast Partners for Water Quality, presents the 2025 SLO County Creeks to Coast Cleanup. Last year, nearly 8,000 pounds of waste were removed from our waterways during this statewide cleanup. There will be four cleanup locations in Avila Beach: Pirates Cove/Cave Landing, Bob Jones Trail, Avila Beach, Fisherman’s Beach, and Olde Port Beach.
Monthly Beach Clean Up
Join Avila Beach House and ECOSLO for a monthly beach cleanup, held the first Friday of each month from 8:30 to 9:30 AM, beginning on October 3, 2025. Meet on the Sun Deck to enjoy coffee and pastries before heading down to the sand. All supplies, including pickers, gloves, and bags, will be provided. The event is free and open to both hotel guests and local community members.

The Macaroni and Cheese Festival

Each year, this event draws more than 2,000 mac & cheese lovers, and 2025 is shaping up to be the biggest (and cheesiest!) yet. On September 27th, taste creations from over 25 of the Central Coast’s most talented chefs, restaurants, and caterers. Cast your vote for the ultimate mac & cheese champion while enjoying endless bites and samples from wineries, breweries, and distilleries. There’s live music all afternoon for this 21+ event!\

Rebelution returns to Avila Beach Resort for TWO nights on October 9 & 10, 2025 along with special guests Pepper, The Elovaters, Aurorawave & DJ Mackle.

The Secret Garden
Just off the Bob Jones Trail, Sycamore’s Secret Garden offers a tucked-away retreat with craft beer, local wines, wood-fired pizzas, and artisan cheese plates. Catch live music from 3-6 PM on select dates in September. Finish it off with a soak in the hillside natural hot spring tubs!
Open Studios Art Tour
Taking place over the weekends of October 11-12 and October 18-19, the tour is a chance for locals and visitors alike to experience the creativity of the Central Coast in a completely unique way, by not only viewing art, but getting an inside look into the artists’ creative process and practices all in the space where the art is made.
Explore the studios of the five participating artists in Avila Beach, talk with the artists about their work in painting, jewelry, and ceramics, and take in the stunning oceanside surroundings that inspire their work.
Featuring Avila Beach artists: Ana Bass, Kasey Burgunder, Linda Lewis, Jennifer Long, and Tracy Taylor.
