The 25th Annual Avila Beach Blues Festival”, this year with Huey Lewis & The News headlining, the Fabulous Thunderbirds featuring Kim Wilson holding down the middle slot, and Central Coast favorite Shemekia Copeland opening the show. 4. Unfinished Business Memorial Day Jam, May 28
A benefit concert with patriotic elements to honor and remember our nation’s Veterans—the “unfinished business” we must never forget. Music line-up features THE BYROM BROTHERS, BURNING JAMES and the FUNKY FLAMES, THE MOOKS!, and UNFINISHED BUSINESS, joined by guest ‘jammers’ LOUIE ORTEGA, MIKE ARRIOLA (of Steppin’ Out), and DUDLEY GIMPEL (of The Mojo Combo). Net proceeds from this event will benefit Operation Comfort, Amazing Surf Adventures, and Quality of Life Plus (QL+), three 501c3 organizations committed to, and active in providing programs and services to benefit our wounded and disabled Veterans.
